Scripture:
He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind (Psalm 78:26).
Explanation:
In today Daily Meditation, day 24 of 31 days of the month of August we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic on ‘Exceedingly great and precious promises’– The winds.
God of Israel – Our Father is the creator of the Universal and has put the winds into place for our benefits. There are known four winds that blow upon the earth and they have both physical and spiritual significance for us. They are North, East, West and South wind. They serve as spiritual weapons of warfare that can serve as defensive and offensive purposes.
There is a wind that brings resources whereas there is wind that is an instrument of divine judgement to the enemies of God.
He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind (Psalm 78:26).
The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn away from hell below (Proverbs 15:24).
So Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts (Exodus 10:13).
And the Lord turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt (Exodus 10:19).
Against Elam I will bring the four winds From the four quarters of heaven, And scatter them toward all those winds; There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go (Jeremiah 49:36).
