Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 20 of 31 days of the month of August, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘God, The Great Deliverer’ – Destroy their altars.
The act of destroying evil altars is significant spiritual act to curtail their impact on human life and perhaps territory because of their use to conjure evil power. Asa was a King in Judah who removed all high places and evil altars and his Kingdom was quiet meaning free of troubles.
Humans offer sacrifices on these altars that have spiritual conundrum.
Redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ was one of the powerful spiritual sacrifices done by the Lord Jesus Christ. God wants us to be a carrier of His great power for His Great deliverance. The Lord’s instruction to remove altars is by destruction by the Fire of God. Glory be to God.
But you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images (Exodus 34:13).
I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and cast your carcasses on the lifeless forms of your idols; and My soul shall abhor you (Leviticus 26:30).
Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God,  for he removed the altars of the foreign gods and the high places, and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the wooden images.  He commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandment.  He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and the kingdom was quiet under him (2 Chronicles 14:2-5).

May the ‘God, The Great Deliverer’ be your God in the month and grant you all your heart desires, favour grace and the blessing.
