Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1).
Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 18 of 31 days of the month of November, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The God of power’ – Authority (Exousia)
Further to our study on the God of power, it is expedient to study and meditate on different type of power. Exousia is the power that comes from delegated authority. This is the same power that Jesus Christ gave to the body of believers.
Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1).
And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease (Matthew 10:1).
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
o Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says (Mark 11: 22-23).
Jesus Christ gave the disciples power and authority over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kind of disease. The blood of Jesus Christ along with the Fire of God are powerful weapons against wickedness.
May the Lord move with His great power and let all His enemies be scattered.
