Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage (Exodus 2:23)
Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 12 of 31 days of the month of August, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘God, The Great Deliverer’ – Exodus from Egypt.
The word Egypt in spiritual connotation does not mean a country but a system of power associated with bondage with hard labour. Such is the case of the people of Israel while in slavery and hard bondage in the land of Egypt. Therefore, the Lord raised Moses as a Prophet to deliver them from the hands of their taskmasters. Jesus Christ came to the World and became a Light to us and delivered us from the power of darkness. Thanks be to the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose up to give us victory over this power of darkness.
Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them (Exodus 2:23-25).
Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
(Exodus 3:9-10).
May the ‘God, The Great Deliverer’ be your God in the month and grant you all your heart desires, favour grace and the blessing.
