Explanation:
Daily Meditation, day 06 of 28 days of the month of February, we will study and meditate on the scriptures relating to our topic ‘The Anointing of the Lord’– The anointing oil.
In the course of this month we will be looking at the Anointing of the Lord and today we will be meditating on the scriptures relating to the consecration. The anointing oil is a physical material but it is a conveyor of the anointing of God. Consecration may seems more mentioned in the Old Testament but the spiritual practices is not limited to the Old testament. The anointing is used for consecration of a priest as an act of devotion of his life for service.
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:19-23).
Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head. Bring his sons and dress them in tunics and fasten caps on them. Then tie sashes on Aaron and his sons. The priesthood is theirs by a lasting ordinance (Exodus 29:7-9).
“Then I washed you in water; yes, I thoroughly washed off your blood, and I anointed you with oil (Ezekiel 16:9).
It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil (Isaiah 10:27
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:14).
May you encounter the power of the Highest to make you supernatural in the name of Jesus Christ.
And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head (Mark 14:3).
May the blessing of the Lord rest upon you and may the Lord grant us such grace and anointing of the Overcomer and prosperity in the new year. Praise the Lord.
May the Lord move with His great power and let all His enemies be scattered.
